Who I Am

One day, Rejoy Krishnan received a phone call. “You’ve been selected. You’re appointed as a Radio Jockey at Radio Mirchi.” Everyone around him was happy. Except Rejoy Krishnan.

Not because he wasn't excited—but because, somewhere inside, he already knew the answer.

It all began in 2007, when Radio Mirchi was preparing to launch in Coimbatore and was looking for fresh talent to join its team. Rejoy Krishnan walked into the audition with curiosity, confidence, and a natural love for conversation.

“During the interview, he was given a simple task: “Tell us a story.” So he did.”

He didn't know exactly what the panel was looking for. He simply told the story the way he knew best—with his voice, his imagination, and his own perspective. And then he noticed something.

A smile on the face of the manager sitting across the table. That smile told Rejoy everything he needed to know. He was going to be part of the team.

A few days later, the phone call confirmed what he had already felt that day. What started as a job soon became a passion.

His passion and involvement in radio eventually took him beyond being an RJ. He went on to become the Programming Head later, taking on the responsibility of developing and curating programs, shaping content, and creating experiences that connected with listeners.

“And somewhere along that journey, Rejoy Krishnan discovered something that would stay with him for the rest of his life: Every person has a story. You just have to listen. And people brought stories. Hence the life of a storyteller begins...”
